Mount Qingcheng, located near Dujiangyan, is one of China's most important sacred sites and the birthplace of Taoism. Declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site along with Dujiangyan in 2000, this 200-square-kilometer massif is famous for its dense vegetation, hence its motto: “Qingcheng, the most peaceful mountain in China.”

The tour begins at the Tang Dynasty Jianfu Temple and ascends to the Upper Palace (Shangqing Gong) and the summit of Laojun Ge, at an altitude of 1,260 meters. Its stone paths wind through bamboo forests and thousand-year-old ginkgo trees, passing by the Cave of the Celestial Master (Tianshi Dong), where Zhang Daoling founded the Taoist doctrine more than 1,800 years ago.

The religious architecture blends harmoniously into the landscape, following the Taoist principle of unity between man and nature. In the perpetual mist, the temples seem to float among the treetops, creating an atmosphere of serenity that has inspired poets and hermits for centuries.

Mount Qingcheng is divided into two areas: the front, rich in cultural heritage, and the rear, of great natural beauty with waterfalls, streams, and deep valleys. It is an ideal destination for those seeking to connect with Eastern spirituality and lose themselves in the stillness of one of Sichuan's most iconic landscapes.
